When does Petit Planet launch?

Winter 2026. That is the official window, announced with a new trailer on August 26, 2026, and it has not been narrowed to a date. No store page has posted a countdown, and the studio has not run a launch-date announcement since.

Community predictions cluster around mid-December, mostly built on in-game references and the seasonal structure of the Starsea. They are guesses. This page will not treat a guess as a date, and any site quoting a specific day at this point is extrapolating from the same material.

The concrete next marker is a live preview special on November 1, 2026 at 19:00 China Standard Time, announced on October 23 and streamed on the official channel. The project team and invited guests are billed as talking through planet life rather than promising a release day, so the Winter 2026 window remains the only date the studio has committed to.

The beta timeline so far

Three tests have run. Each one moved the game further from a prototype and closer to the launch build, and the naming changed each time.

TestWindowWhat it introduced
Livability TestLate 2025First public build: planting, gathering, Neighbors, the first version of the Luca Arbor
Starsea TestFrom April 21, 2026Starsea Voyage, expanded Neighbor roster, the cooking and recipe systems
Final Beta (0.95, Starsea Call)September 20 to October 19, 2026Starsea Map, travel tickets, reworked Commissions, extra Neighbors, new terrain options

The Final Beta is the version this site uses as its baseline, because it is the last build anyone outside the studio has played. When the launch client differs, the affected pages will be revised rather than patched with guesses.

What the Final Beta included

Version 0.95 completed the systems rather than adding new ones. The Starsea Voyage became a mapped route instead of a blind pick, with the Starsea Map showing regions and the Islets inside them. Travel moved from a fuel resource to a daily ticket allowance. Commissions gained levels, and the Neighbor roster reached sixteen confirmed characters, including service characters who never move in.

The test ran for four weeks and closed on October 19, 2026. Its end-of-test message thanked players without giving a launch date. The gap between that closing date and the Winter 2026 window is short, which points to a polish pass rather than another round of new systems — so the loop you can read about here is close to the loop you will get.

Will beta progress carry over?

Not announced. No test so far has promised a transfer, and the account rules during the Final Beta treated progress as test-only. The realistic assumption is a fresh planet at launch.

What does carry over is knowledge. Nothing in the first-week route changes much between builds, so a player who learned the loop in the Final Beta starts launch with the same advantage as someone who read a guide instead — the systems are unchanged in shape even when numbers move.

Pre-registration rewards

Registration is open on the official site, and rewards are tiered by total sign-ups rather than by when you registered. Everyone who registers before launch receives the base reward; each milestone unlocks an extra item for the whole player base, delivered in-game at launch.

MilestoneReward
Base registrationStarry hand light
2 million sign-upsFloral fruit tea ×2
4 million sign-upsStar-red fireworks ×2
6 million sign-upsSweet special drink ×2
8 million sign-upsJellies ×100
10 million sign-upsOutfit set

All of it is claimed inside the game after launch, not through an email code. The registration campaign that ran during the Final Beta closed on August 31, 2026; the milestone structure is what carries forward. The current sign-up page in China names two items in its own copy — a starry hand light and a Little Star Seedling outfit set — which line up with the base registration reward and the outfit tier above.

Region and device rules

Test access was region-managed rather than globally open. Registration required a HoYoverse account, and the Chinese test required real-name verification tied to a mainland ID. Access was granted per account, not per store region.

For launch, no region lock has been announced. The safest reading is that the game will follow the studio's usual pattern — a global release on PC and mobile stores, with the official site as the reference point for supported countries. If you are outside the main markets, check the official site rather than a third-party download page.

Where announcements appear first

  • The official site, planet.hoyoverse.com, which carries the pre-registration page and the trailers
  • The official livestream, which airs the preview specials — including the November 1, 2026 broadcast
  • The game's official social accounts, where the Winter 2026 window was announced
  • The official forum on TapTap, which posts test schedules, download instructions, and patch notes

Store pages lag behind these channels. A store listing going up is a useful signal that launch is close, but the date itself will come from the official channels first.

What has not been announced

  • The specific launch day inside Winter 2026
  • Whether Final Beta progress is wiped
  • Launch pricing and monetization
  • Which countries are excluded, if any
  • Whether a console version ships at launch

None of these gaps changes what you can do today: register on the official site, and treat the first week of any build as practice rather than as an investment you will keep.
